Divorce

Hardest thing about divorce is losing my puppies. I think I cried more for them, as I was more relieved that the relationship ended. It hard to watch my puppies from outside. They recognize me and they can only lick my fingers from a window pane. Or when they can only lick my hand underneath a gate that separates us, or when I have to go to my X neighbor's house only to talk to my puppies through the wall. It's heart wrenching and painful. I do not wish this for anyone else.

Corneal Ulcer

I am so concerned for Roxie. She whined and cried for a moment, and thought she got stuck in a room or under a bed or a furniture. She was quiet for awhile and hanged on to me for dear life. Than I noticed her left eye was completely swollen or sore. In a state of panic, I called her Vet. Unfortunately, they were full so I had to rush her to a Animal hospital close to where I live. Thanks God. It just scares me so much, I hope to God she is going to be okay. The vet will go through a series of more test with her and will call me. worried mom. www.pupprincess.com

Jealousy

"Does Roxie water the plants, make her bed and take the trash out too", my daughter ask. "No, you do that much better", I answered. "Good, I was getting jealous already!"
she responded back. "You are my real princess, Roxie is only a pup princess!" I replied. "For Christ sakes, she's only a dog!"

Dog Treatment

I went to see an acquaintance at a dog park yesterday, and we introduced our dogs to each other. My friend was getting ready to leave for a long trip in the next couple of days. "Aren't you excited?" I asked her. "Yes, very...but I just worry for my dog", she replied. "My sister is going to take her", she continued. "So?" I curiously asked. "Well, my dog has to stay outside, and eat dog food, and he get's all dirty... she treats him just like a dog!" "Oh", I thought to myself, "They sure are our babies, aren't they?"

Fat dog

Everytime I take Roxie out for a walk, I get compliments about owning such a cute dog.
"Cute Dog", I'd hear it everywhere. I am a happy proud owner and immediately responded "Thank you" smiling widely, "Thank You". "What is her breed?" a passer-by would ask. "She's a Yorkie, and she's only 6 months old." I answered. "Oh, but she's so big!" the passerby commented.

My friends and family were no less polite and just bluntly said she was FAT! Gee, I hope my dog does not grow up to be bulimic when she hears them. One classmate from school even suggested I should start a "Weight Watchers" for dogs!

I guess, my Roxie baby will win no dog show, but I love her just the same.

Doggone Experience

My sister just got a dog. She got two of them. She bought a Yorkie and a Dachshund. Everytime I spoke to her on the phone, all she talked about was her dogs. That made me want to get one myself too. At first, I was so unsure...I never had a dog in my life. I was always a cat person. That is another story to tell, later. My daugher, Tifani was a dog lover. She loved any dog in sight. I had to stop her from kissing and hugging all the street dogs we'd meet in the Philippines. But I always had a tragic experience with dogs.

When I was a kid, we had a beautiful dog called Lassie. She just looked like the movie star dog in the TV show called "Lassie". But alas, Lassie could not live long. In a country where dogs were a delicacy, Lassie just dissappeared. And we suspected one of our neighbors barbecued her already. Eoooouuwwwww! I could never get over the thought of it. Y'see, in my country, some people do eat dogs, but not everyone! And they never touch their dogs, but their neighbor's dogs! Sick, isn't it?

So it was not surprising when I moved to Germany with my ex-husband, everyone looked at me with disdain because I was coming from a country of dog eaters. Germany was a country of dog lovers. My eyes popped out when I saw a Dog Reformhouse where they were selling all the dog delicacies like diet dog chocolates or diabetic dog nurtritous treats.

In fact, when i was introduced to my ex-sister-in-law, first thing she told me was "Stay away from our dog!" "The nerve and the ignorance!", I thought to myself. Fresh from the Philippines, I just kept on smiling and pretended not to understand her threats.

She repeated year after the year her warning, that after 3 years, I was able to muster enough German swear words that I told her off swearing in all the languages and dialect I could muster dumping her on the dog pound! I couldn't take her crap anymore and she'd better get off my back, I retaliated! Besides, it was her brother, my ex-husband who ate dogs and was rather proud of it, not me! That ended the story and she never was on my dog case again.
